I'm worried about it too. I think DH & I will have rules like just 1 computer & 1 laptop in the house & use is only allowed in the living room & if DC has a cell phone, they can have it back after homework. We will have to see where we are in 10 years in regards to technology, social networks & the type of kid DS is.

I plan on making rules with computers and cell phones, but who knows what will transpire when reality sets in...I already see that I'm a bit this way (I'm a tech freak and love all my gadgets),and Chels totally got that gene, I see it already and it worries me greatly. I don't want her to have an attention span of a knat, which essentially is what all this technology is creating....

THISIS WORRYSOME...parents, now more than ever, need to be involved in their kids education/schoolwork/afterschool acitivities.
When i was in school, Nintendo had come out. My father bought us the system, but never bought us any games (other than what came with it). His reasoning was that we will play it beat it, and then not play anymore. so he made us rent them..LOL. The rule was, no Nintendo until all schoolwork was done when we got home.
These days, there are so many things to distract kids. good grief...
