Only when it rains really badly but this has happened a few times since we have been here causes flooding.

Do I need a chimney person OR a stone mason?

Do you have a cap on your chimney? Usually this helps with the rain. Also the water is coming down your chimney and into your basement i am thinking this is from your furnace? If so you can buy furnace cement and reseal but I would have someone take a look just in case something else is really wrong.

Thanks for responding. We have actually had it resealed 2x (atleast) oil company says it's from something at the bottom of chimney.
