Not sure what to do..Babysitter related..WWYD?
We're in queens. We were completely snowed in until late last night. My sitter called me Sunday to find out what I was doing on Monday. I told her since it was bad, and just getting worse, that I was staying home and not bringing in DD. Same thing happened for Tuesday. Today- she had asked for the day off previously bc her 22 year old daughter was having her tonsils removed...so I had my sister come in to watch DD as I HAD to go back to work today. She just called from the hospital- they are keeping her DD overnight and she (the DD) is very upset and wants her mom with her..so she asked if I could get coverage for tomorrow..My sister luckily can stay. She has off on Friday, since I do. We dont have a set agreement on vacation pay. She will ask for a day here or there if something comes up and I've had no issues with that. When I took DD on vacation for a full week, we agreed on 1/2 weeks pay. But, do you think I need to offer her full pay for this week?? I mean, I know the snow isn't her fault...I'm thinking I should offer 1/2 pay again...but how do I even approach that?? WWYD??

Are you happy with her? Is she reliable? If so, then I would happily pay her the full week's pay.

I think half pay would be more then fine, especially considering she isn't watching her at all. The snow was noone's fault and neither was her DD being held overnight. Just one of those things.

I agree. 1/2 is fine IMO.

We pay our nanny a full weeks pay regardless of days off. We made it clear though that if days off ever became excessive we would re-evaluate this arrangement.
