Not sure where to post...Scared X-post
Hi Ladies,
Not sure where to post this.... Health, infertility? TTC?
Anyway.... just had an ovarian sonogram and the doctor found a dermoid cyst (a benign cystic teratoma) on my right ovary. It's 99% likely that it will not be cancer, so that's good... BUT if it's not taken care of, I could lose my ovary! I am so worried... we wanted to TTC soon!
My gyn. recommended Dr. Farr Nezhat and/or the L.I. Gynelogical Oncologists practice in Mineola....
Has anyone had any experience with the above doctors??? And with dermoid cysts on the ovaries? If you have had this, what was it like for you?

Ask to confirm the diagnosis. Are you going to have an MRI or a CT scan? I was told, after a sonogram, that I had a dermoid cyst. It turned out to be a uterine fibroid that only appeared to be on my ovary. I did eventually have surgery for fibroids but it was not as urgent as a surgery for a dermoid cyst would have been.

you should definately get a MRI or CT
Thanks... i didn't think of this. I had two sonograms (one outer) and one inner...inserted into the "area" if you know what I mean!
