Not too happy with Dr. B's office these days (UPDATED)
Ok, I think I'm on a good path again. I def. plan on talking with Dr. B about what was unsettling and what made me unhappy. From what i can surmise, the front desk was giving me info that didn't pertain to me, as I'm already on BCP's and can have all the unprotected relations I like!! So, thank God for email and it's ability to get people in touch quickly!!
Tx for all the support and advice!

first.. i am so sorry Shawnna you feel this way.
i know you must be so frustrated with what is going on, playing phone tag.. and what not.
since you are so upset by this, and its a big deal to be going through IVF.. i would get "jeff" on the phone and tell him how you feel. you are his patient, and you ARE paying this IVF OOP.. so he should listen to your concerns !
as for me and my process.. i really didnt have any problems.. i wasn't given any instructions about the BC.. until i was finished and got the actual IVF schedule in my hand.. but i didnt have to get a HSG either.. so its a difference!

Yes I intend to talk with him when I have the chance. The thing that gets me is that if I didn't ask HIM about the SHG I don't know if or when it would have been brought up! Almost like if it's THAT important shouldn't it have been discussed earlier?? I feel like the ball got dropped, big time!

Re: Not too happy with Dr. B's office these days...(LONG)
Sorry u r going through this....I think the 1st time going through IVF is enormously difficult bc none of us are probably told EVERYTHING we need to do or not do....and different dr's have different instructions.
FWIW, my dr didn't say anything about not having "relations" and we did too. Oops.
I was also told that before the retrieval, no fake nails, nail polish, make-up, deodorant, dental work, etc.... Friends at other dr's were never told anything similar. I even know people with the SAME dr who weren't told that.
I think that we just want to make sure we are doing everything RIGHT bc we want this to work so badly, it's stressful when we don't get info, callbacks, mis-information, etc.
We'll get through this!

Thanks and you're right! We're hyper sensitive to what to do and not do! As for no deodorant, !!

Yes i will, after the holiday weekend. I'm sure everyone is in "vacation" mode and I'd rather have the time to discuss my concerns!

Re: Not too happy with Dr. B's office these days...(LONG)
Today might be a good day to get Dr. B on the phone. Unless you were going to wait to you see him in person. Since everyone else is on vaca mode, he might not be concentrating on anything else and will be able to follow up on Tuesday.
I am sorry to hear the office is causing you any stress!!! I know at first I felt a little "neglected". I mean, I trusted Dr. B and I knew I was in good hands, however, I couldn't stand waiting for instructions and didn't know what I could/couldn't do before then. I had already had an HSG from my other Dr.,, so he had those records. Dr. B then decided to do a water exam at the last minute just to confirm what the report said. That wasn't in my mix and it was unexpected. When you're on edge about the whole IVF process and don't know what to expect, it's very disheartening when the office isn't forthcoming with any/all information you need and the reassurance you need to know that they are there for you.
I hope it all is smooth sailing after your talk. Best of luck with the cycle!!!!!!

I was a patient of Dr B's a long time ago but I could not deal with Sandra so I left. I never told him about her because I didn't want to get her in trouble. For me she was totally unresponsive.

I am sorry you are having trouble getting her to respond to you, but you should definitely address it with him.
I don't know why they want you to have an HSG if you are having IVF...with an IUI I would understand but with IVF they are totally bypassing the tubes.

Yeah, you would not have a HSG with IVF. You bypass the tubes. It is irrelevant. Could you be confusing the HSG with the HCG trigger shot?

It is the SHG not (HSG), also called a water sono. Checks for problems that could be in the uterus that could affect implantation!
Sorry for the confusion, didn't see my typo earlier!
