Not ttc.. another bcp ques.
At what point should I get worried and call the doctor.
I went off the pill mid Aug. was on for 7 years.
TMI: I got my last period on Sept 6. Since then I had two days with EXTREMELY light spotting (light brown)
It has been almost 3 months with no AF...I am actually scared to call the dr and am thinking I am defective or something...

You took PG tests, right Jen? What were your periods like before you went on the pill? Were they regular? If not, it could be the same now going back to your regular (not pill controlled) periods. Have you been under any stress?
I would give your gyno a call, just to give you some peace of mind. I am sure everything is fine, but I would call if I were in your position.

I did take pregnancy tests in the beginning, havent in a while, but I assume I would be showing by now if I were
I went on the pill at 18 and I honestly dont remember what my periods were like before. I know I started late...like 15 or 16 but this is just freaking me out!!!
I think Ill call the dr next week but I dont know what they can/will do really. Im starting to worry I will have trouble when we decide to have kids.

Re: Not ttc.. another bcp ques.
Don't worry!!!! It can take such a long time to get regular after such long term pill usage. I was on it for like 6 years and then I went off, spotted lightly a couple of weeks later and then didn't get my periodfor 8 months!!!! And now I am SO regular it's silly. Don't worry, let your body do it's thing. You can opt for pills that will make you get your period I think. Good luck!

just wanted to say you wouldn't be showing by now....so you might want to take that pregnancy test just to rule it out....good luck!!!

Re: Not ttc.. another bcp ques.
When I went of BCP after being on them for 7 years I had one or two sorta regular cycles (they were each over 35 days) and then I didn't get it for close to 3 months and had brown spotting on and off the whole time. I finally broke down and went to the GYN and they told me I was having an anovulatory cycle. The only way to regulate these is to go back on the pill or wait it out. I waited and it finally came and since then it has been fairly regular. I think it takes a long time for your body to regulate, but if you are nervous about being PG then I would suggest testing to calm your nerves. Good luck

Re: Not ttc.. another bcp ques.
I had a similar experience when I went off the pill in college for a bit.....i ended up going to the gyn, who did another pregnancy test to confirm i wasn't pregnant, then he prescribed some sort of pill (hormonal) to get AF......and then my body somehow sorted itself out.

very true! and i read earlier today that a lady didn't know until 20 weeks because she bled...so what's $15 for piece of mind? At least then when you call the dr., you can say "I'm not pregnant, I took a test." But more than likely, it has to do with your body needing time to regulate. 7 years is a long time.

Re: Not ttc.. another bcp ques.
Please don't worry! I went off and it took me 66 days to get my period and even then it was really light. I am still not regulated and it has been 7 months. You might want to call your doctor anyway, but I don't think you should worry.

Re: Not ttc.. another bcp ques.
This happened to one of my friends. Her doctor put her on Provera. It forces your period.
