Now I'm Getting Nervous If Any Of My 8 Eggs That Fertilized Will Result In At Least ONE GOOD QUALITY EGG...
What do you all think?
Explain to me...what really is the difference between a 3 day and a 5 day transfer? As of now I am scheduled for tomorrow (Wednesday) at 1:15 for my 3-day transfer. Unless I get a call from them. By what time tomorrow morning do you think I'd be called if it changes to a 5-day?
Should I be really upset if it stays at a 3-day transfer? Statistically, what percentage less of a chance of pregnancy if it's a 3-day not a 5-day?
Thanks

Re: Now I'm Getting Nervous If Any Of My 8 Eggs That Fertilized Will Result In At Least ONE GOOD QUALITY EGG...
I actually just had this discussion with my nurse yesterday.
She stressed that I should not be upset if they want to do a 3 day transfer rather than a 5 day transfer. That all a 3 day transfer means, is that the embroylogists feel the embroyo would do better being inside your body rather than take the chance it could arrest before a 5 day transfer. I was told that I would know the morning of.. meaning day 3, I would get a call between 8am-10am with a time in the afternoon to come in for my transfer. I would get a call either way on day 3, and would know at that point if they do a 5 day transfer what time I would need to be at the office on day 5.

I agree with the above post. You shouldn't stress about it. Some embies might do better being inside your body for the other two days rather than a petri dish. Doesn't mean anything at all. I had to have a 5 day because I was doing genetic testing on the embies, but otherwise I would have done a 3 day. The judge it on many factors including egg quality, your age, etc. Day 3 transfers are probably most common.
Lots of luck! And don't stress

agree with what both posters wrote above. It is more common to have a 3 day transfer rather than a 5 day transfer. Your chances are very good either way. Right now try to be positive and happy with whaterver transfer day you have. I will be in your shoes soon and I'm sure will be worrying about the same thing. So I know it's easier said than done, but from what everyone says staying positive is so important! good luck! try not to stress yourself out.

My RE (LI-IVF) only does 3 day transfers. Try not to worry.

First, You are so blessed to have come this far in your cycle! You have made it through all these difficult issues, you are almost at the end of it all!!!! Don't worry, you need to keep positive and be stress free so your body is the best environment it can be! I don't think it matters whether you'll put them back 3 or 5 days. As some of the girls said you might actually be better off putting them back 3 days later. Take a deep breath, be calm and happy, You are so close!!!! I am praying for you and I wish you all the best I hope you are able to have your baby (or babies!!!) lol XOXOXOXO BOTB

My RE told me not to get upset if we couldnt' do a three day transfer. Even though technology has come a long way nothing can ever exactly simulate growing in the womb and some embryos do better in the womb than in a petri dish. There have been many success stories with 3 day transfers. Try to stay positive....
