NPR---cat might be sick

My cat has pooped on the bed for the last 3 days in a row. Nothing in his environment has changed recently (DD is already 7 mos old). I called the vet and they said to bring him in right away because he could be sick. The receptionist said I had to bring him in today because her cat did the same thing and he was sick. I asked with what and she said she'd rather not say
