NPR - Holiday Gifts
we're having a tough time thinking of gifts for ppl this yr.
we've exhausted spa/nail type stuff for the moms/sils etc. and electronic stuff/dvds etc. for the guys.
any suggestions? what are u girls getting ppl for the holidays?

we were having a super hard time this year, especially being on a strict budget so we got a funny gift and a personal one...
Funny Gift = Snuggie (yes i said snuggie  )
Personal Gift = a book tailored to the person

yeah we dont want to go crazy either...for the same reasons as you girls have said.
i asked my mom but she's always like i dont need anything dont get anything blah blah blah.
hmm maybe we can think of smaller personal gifts.

I made my immediate family give me christmas list and from their list I chose 1 gift from each I am only doing immediate family and kids I am watching how much I spend this year

What about donatios in their honor?

Grandma Journal
my mother has one of these and it is the ultra sentimental kind. she cries just thinking about it! we got one for MIL and FIL this year. MIL is getting a Mac Airport Express, FIL-books, clothes, a mini aerogarden and a gardening tool kit, Mom-starting her on the Pandora earings and something else, BIL-inexpensive digital camera, SIL-Sephora makeup (they don't have Sephora in London) and a necklace, Goddaughter-Vera Bradley bag and Bath and Body Works stuff.
