NPR-WWYD - I think my neighbor hit my car!
OK so I was going out to lunch at work today and notice a chunk taken out of my bumper and some scratches and paint missing when I was walking up to it. Upon closer inspection I noticed some bright blue paint transfer on my car. I assumed it must of happened in the Jones Beach Parking lot over the weekend when we were there for a concert.
Fast forward to tonight, and DS and I were taking a walk around our co-op and we were by the parking lot and my neighbors drive a bright blue jaguar that matches the paint on my car. He happened to be pulling in while we were walking by. They are fairly new and I didnt even think of it earlier today.
So after DS went to bed, I ran to 7-11. Sure enough when I got down and checked out his car, he has a scratch and paint missing level with where my damage is on my car. On the side of his back bumper, so it looks as though he may have hit it backing out or something.
Heres my problem.....do I say something to my neighbor? The thing is, they are one of the only young couples in our development and the wife and I get along really well and its nice to finally have another young couple for neighbors. The DH is usually a really nice guy too. I dont want to start anything with them, but if he did damage my car, I want it fixed. WWYD?

I probably wouldn't say anything. I'd hate to be at bad terms with my neighbor. then again, i have a bunch of scratches on my car already. DH is super anal with his car and he definitely would say something.

You could call the police & file a hit & run report & then leave it up to them to investigate.
I think telling them that you think it's the neighbor because his paint matches the damage & you think you saw paint on his car wouldn't hurt either.

If it were an older car, I wouldnt care, but its only a year old and its a LEASE! Damn it, lol!
