Nuchal at 11 weeks
I have an appt for my Nuchal exam on Wednesday, I will only be 11 weeks and 1 day. The receptionist told me that was ok and if they felt that the baby was too small, they'd just have me come back the following week.
Has anyone ever heard of this?
I think I am more nervous that we are going to get there and have something be wrong. I'm trying to think positively, but I am a constant worrier.
I can't wait until Wednesday afternoon after the sonogram.

It's fine The baby may be a little too small to properly measure what they need to measure, but its nothing to worry about, they are just doing the test a little earlier. If you have to go back because the baby is too small, then you get another chance to see that little bean!

Re: Nuchal at 11 weeks
I had mine done exactly at 11 weeks, and there was no problems seeing the baby or anything!

Re: Nuchal at 11 weeks
that sounds kind of early if i remember correctly. if testing is not done in the appropriate time frame it can result in false positives, so i have been told...
i forget the exact week i went, but when i did go they told me to come back the following week as they wanted the baby to be a specific minimum size. when you go i would ask what this size is and if you are measuring accordingly.

What is a Nuchal test?
An unltrasound is done to check the thickness of the skin at the baby's neck, along with a bood test to detect markers for Down's. It's optional and can be done between 11 and 15 weeks.
