Nuchal fold test?
Hi all,
Im new to this board, but somewhat of a regular on MB. I have a Nuchal fold today and I can't seem to remember if I am supposed to drink fluids first? Has anyone had this test and remember?? Did anyone find out the sex of their baby at this test? Thanks

its a sonogram , so yes I was told to drink before hand.
I have heard of some people finding out the sex. I didnt, was too soon.

Mine is scheduled for 4/3 and they told me to drink 12 ounces of water in preparation. Best of luck!

I would call first - I had to drink 32 oz of water one hour before the test w/o going to the bathroom.

I DIDN'T need to drink anything before hand.
In fact, they made sure I emptied my bladder right before, so I think it depends on the machine they are using.
And yes, I found out I was having a  during mine.

I had to have a full bladder, but then my LO wouldn't cooperate so they told me to enter my bladder and they were able to see her better.
I asked if they could tell the sex, but it was only 12 weeks so it was a little too early.

I was told to drink 24oz 1 hour prior to test and not pee. Call the place before to find out. Each place is different with their equipment.

Yup, had to drink 24 ounces of water and hold it an hour before the appointment. Turns out I'm super hydrated to begin with, they made me empty my bladder as soon as she put the wand on my belly! Didn't need it full (although they insisted on the full bladder for the 20-week sono, and again, I had to empty first!).

I just called and they said I didn't need to drink...I dont know how you girls did it! I think I would get sick if I had to drink so much so quickly! Thanks for the help

I didn't have to drink, but they wouldn't let me pee before the test.
I have heard that having a fuller bladder makes it easier to get the measurments tho....

I went for this yesterday and I had to drink 16 oz of water within the hour before the test.

For mine they didn't tell me to drink anything...she did internal/external.
