nursery furniture ? - brown room

im attaching a pic of our office that will become the baby's room. my husband wants to keep the walls brown, me not so much, but im willing to give in a bit. anyway, here's a pic. do u think natural wood would look better or darker wood like black/ebony?

I think maple or mahogany or cherry wood would look great.
