Nursery Ideas Finalized...I think?

We decided to go with this room as inspiration:

External Image

We are adding molding half way up the wall - the bottom half of the room will be dark purple - the upper half light purple and the carpet I think we are going to go with sage green for a gardeny looking room.

Here is the crib we picked out:

and the combo unit

and this bedding

There are two windows in the room so I think I will use these curtains

and my mom - MIL - and I will hand paint some lavendar that looks like it is "Growing" from the ground - and add some butterflies/dragon flies to the walls - and hanging from the ceiling.

I want it to feel like an indoor garden.

opinions??

It's going to be beautiful! I love it!!

I really like that crib too - where did you find it and how much, if you don't mind?

We saw the crib at buy buy baby. It is Sorelle Cottage - it is a convertable crib (not sure we need that but we liked to have the option) that converts to a full size bed.

The crib is $480.

We looked in babies r us and buy buy - in my opinion Buy Buy has a better/nicer selection - and they were SOOO helpful!!!!

It is so pretty and it is going to look great!

I agree with you. We started looking for cribs on Saturday and we liked more those that we saw at buy buy baby... babies 'r us was so busy so we didn't like our experience there.

Thanks, I really like it. I might go take a look at it. Quick question though - on those cribs that are "sideways" (as I call them), does that lower bar drop down and raise up so that when the baby is big enough to stand it's still tall enough to keep him in?

Actually - the bar does not move - the mattress does (it lowers three times) to accomadate the babies growth - then it has one more postion much lower - so you can take the front off and you have a little toddler day bed.

The guy that helped us told us that he recommends this over the drop side cribs. (the other one we were considering was drop side) He said he finds when they put their baby to sleep then raise the side of the crib - it wakes the baby - could just be his experience - but I don't know any better so I am taking his word for it.

Also - you are having a boy right? If you go to the story in westbury - they actually show this set with boy's bedding - so you can get an idea of that...I totally think it is good for a boy too!

That is going to be a beautiful nursery.

I also heard that Buy Buy Baby has a great selection of cribs. DH and I are going there in 2 weeks after we find out what the baby is.

Thank you SO much for the info. I was wondering how that worked with the conversion and all. Yep - it's a boy so I would love to see it with the bedding. Buy Buy is like 5 mins from my job so I'll go check it out. Thanks again!
