nursery question...
How much did you budget for baby furniture and nursery needs? Did you spend more or less and what did you wind up with?
I am starting to research things to buy and having a hard time placing a dollar amount on all that I will need.

Re: nursery question...
Hmmm this is a hard question because I know I'm going to have a shower and not have to pay for every little thing I need.
But for furniture- DH and I have set aside about $2,000 for a crib, changing table/dresser and glider.

i doubt i'll have a shower, but do know family will chip in here and there (my parents have already stated they will get the glider), but i'm trying to estimate no help for the time being...

this is where i'm at as well, but some things i see online are and i don't know if i'm looking in the wrong places or what!

Re: nursery question...
$2000 is about what we will wind up spending as well. We are getting a lifetime crib, dressing station with a hutch and 5 drawer dresser from BBB.

Re: nursery question...
We spent $3400 on our nursery furniture and $550 on a glider but you can definitely get things cheaper than that. We purposely got high quality furniture becaues the crib turns into a bed and this will basically be her furniture for as long as she lives with us.
DH's parents gave us $2000 toward the furniture the rest we paid for ourselves. SIL bought our bedding and I did have showers where we got a lot of other things.
If money is tight you really have to weight wants vs. needs because there isn't much a baby actually "needs" its more of what mommy and daddy want. I totally went overboard and know better for next time. Especially with clothes and with thinking I had to have everything before the baby was born. She hasn't even been in her crib yet and she's 3 months old.

Re: nursery question...
My parents spent about 1K on the crib and changing table. My MIL paid for the bedding and all matching accessories, which came up to about $400.

Re: nursery question...
We spent about 2,000 for a crib, changing table and dresser. It was Pali and we got it at Behr's.
We got our glider from my SIL so it saved us another $7-800. If you need that also budget that in..
