Nursery Schools in Merrick, Bellmore, Wantagh, Seaford, Massapequa areas
I know, I'm very behind on calling for September, we've been debating a lot if we should send her this year or next. She was 2 at the end of February.
Any recommendations? Thanks!

I am probably going to send DD to the Montessouri on Jerusalem in Mass. They have a toddler program that starts at 2 years old, 2 days/week for 2 1/2 hrs, I think I may put her in January when she is 22 months, they said they would take her.

Two of my friends send their kids to St Johns and are happy with them.
I'm sending dd to Grace Day School in Mass this Fall. It has a great rep and I loved the staff when we met with them last year.

I don't know the area but if you don't mind I'll make a suggestion.
Stick to the area that is close to the elementary school that she will be attending.
I wish I did this with my kids but I picked the next town over because it was convenient. Now they know a lot of kids from the next school district over and the kids in the elementary schools all have known each other from their pre-school.

Re: Nursery Schools in Merrick, Bellmore, Wantagh, Seaford, Massapequa areas
Glad you posted this. I am way behind as well and still debating if I want to or not. Probably most will be closed out already anyway....
I met a woman today in the park and she gave me some info.
She mentioned the most popular in my area are...the first two seemed to be her preference. She is sending her son to Twin Oaks in the fall - he is two. Most of my neighbors got to the JCC or Twin Oaks.
Twin Oaks JCC Merrick Woods and some community one (but wasn't sure the name).
I got a letter from my church that the St Anne (or whatever the name is next to St Barnabus) and it appears they may have a toddler program. I have been meaning to call them. Also there is that Maplewood I see on Wantagh Ave - I have been meaning to see if they take 2 year olds...someone told me they do.
I just can't decide what to do.

I would completely agree with this. Emily was already "accepted" into our church's preschool since she was baptized there but since it's 2 towns away I didn't want to send her there. It was important for me to have her meet friends she'd be going to school with AND for me to meet some other local moms since I still feel relatively new to the area.

Thanks everyone! I called a few today and most said that for Nursery school she'd have to be 3 by the end of the year, so we have to wait.
Neicey: Was it St. Elizabeth Ann Seton? We were thinking about that one since we might send her to Catholic school. They told me she'd have to be 3.

Teri, My niece will also be attending Grace in Sept. How old is your DD. My neice will be 3 at the end of Nov. Actually, she made the cut off by 15 mins.
