Nursing
Just need support or BTDT moms - twins are just under 2 weeks old - but having supply issues and b/c of that they, and I get frustrated. I've been pumping and working with a consultant - taking Mothers MIlk tea and fenugreek. Anyone have success story that as they got bigger nursing just clicked? They were born at 38 weeks.

Re: Nursing
My twins are only 3 days old (born at 37 weeks, 6 days) so my milk hasn't fully come in yet. But I remember that when I nursed DD the first 10 days or so were the hardest. She was so sleepy that getting her to latch was so hard, and she was born at 41 weeks, 1 day!! It definitely got easier for me once she was more awake and latched easily.
Are you tandem nursing? One of the LCs from the hospital mentioned that random nursing was great for your supply.

Re: Nursing
Keep at it! I was really struggling in the beginning but around 4 weeks it all seemed to fall into place. I didn't do tandem nursing at all. I did pump after feedings if I could to try to stimulate milk prodution, took fenugreen, made lactation cookies, ate oatmeal for breakfast and took More Milk Plus Tincture (nasty stuff!). I would feed each baby on one side and then switch them for the next feeding. They got REALLY efficient and eventually I was able to nurse each baby for about 7-8 minutes on one side (other baby on other side afterward) and they would stay satisfied for about 4 hours! YOU CAN DO IT! I really had a hard time in the beginning but ended up continuing until about 14 months :)

Re: Nursing
I know it's challenging, but keep at it! My twins are 16mo and we're still going strong. It definitely takes some time to get your supply established and some days they will want to nurse all day and night. Just keep putting them on the breast as much as you possibly can. I tandem fed them for the first 6 weeks or so. At that point, it was easier to nurse them separately. We're now back to tandem nursing. I never took anything to increase supply, just lots of water. At about 8 weeks, I added in a pumping session after their morning feeding to build up a stash, but they've never really taken bottles. Good luck mama!!! Feel free to PM me with any btdt questions, I'm happy to help!
