Nursing or BTDT moms...should I invest in nursing clothes?
I'm 2 weeks in to exclusively bfing(YAY for me!!!!) and have a couple of tops. I have only nursed at home but will be venturing out more as ds gets older. Have you found the nursing clothes to be more helpful when nursing out and about?

good for you
I personally didn't want to spend the money on nursing attire. I wear normal clothes and either pull the vneck down or lift it up and use a blanket

The only investment I made past a nursing bra was a nursing tank top from Target. I go out all the time and don't wear button down shirts b/c it exposes more skin. (if I pull shirt up baby covers my stomach and shirt covers top of breast, whereas unbutton shirt exposes breast and baby doesn't cover the entire thing). I almost never use a blanket or coverup to hide baby.

You can get some cheap nursing tops at Motherhood. I thought it was worth it because it made breastfeeding in public so much easier. Glad breastfeeding is going well for you!

I never did. I always wore a tank underneath my shirts. Like a PP said, you can lift up the shirt and pull down the tank and basically nothing is exposed.

That's exactly what I did too.
I bought regular shirts but made sure they were nursing friendly.

Congrats on your success. I hope you continue to do well.
As far as nursing clothes, I bought a pair of pajamas and a nursing cami/tank but other than that, regular knit shirts worked well.
I also found a few surplice (cross over style) shirts work like nursing tops in that you can pull one side down.

i only have nursing bras and nursing tanks. if i am going somewhere i know it will be hard to manuever, i wear a tank w/a zip up jacket or cardigan over it - otherwise regular clothes work well.

I bought a thing or two, but never wore them. I lived in those tank tops from old navy or Express that have the shelf bra. Anytime I needed to feed DD, I just pulled it down.
I did get some nursing bras for the winter which were great.

Re: Nursing or BTDT moms...should I invest in nursing clothes?
I have 4 long sleeve shirts, 2 nice sweaters, 4 short sleeve shirts, 4 tank tops and 2 dresses. They all have nursing openings and allow me to nurse very discretely which I have done in tons of places, parks, restaurants, parties. No one ever realizes I'm nursing. I have 5 nursing bras and 3 sleep bras. I'm considering a nursing bathing suit too.
I planned from the beginning to EBF until at least a year. We are now at 8 months and I am still planning on continuing to BF until at least a year and hopefully 18 months. If I hadn't planned to do it for this long I wouldn't have made the investment. I plan to EBF and go for the same amount of time when we have a second child too.
The sites I have bought from are:
Expressiva
Motherwear
I like the spring/summer weather clothes from Motherwear better. The clothes from both sites hold up well in the wash.

Re: Nursing or BTDT moms...should I invest in nursing clothes?
I have a few nursing tanks from target which are fabulous - I wear them under a tee shirt or sweater - which makes it easy to BF and be mostly covered up.
