nursing pads

Which ones are best? type? brand? Do I need to bring them to the hospital with me for after I give birth?

Thanks!

Re: nursing pads

I like lansinoh pads, they are really thin. But some of the other girls on here liked the lilypadz ones...

If you are in the hospital for a few days you might want to bring some, you won't need them until your milk comes in.

Re: nursing pads

I used Avent - they're pretty absorbent. You can bring a few with you to the hospital, but your milk won't come in for about 4 days after you give birth.
(And I'm not BF'ing; I just used the pads for those first few days of milk production because of leakage).

I just used the ones in the hospital for awhile. I asked them if they had any and the nurse gave me 6 boxesChat Icon

I leaked very bad in the hospital and my actual milk came in after day 2. I am now using the Gerber Pads and I love themChat Icon

Re: nursing pads

I used Avent and they were great - I had an oversupply

The nurse in the hospital gave me some when my milk came in and they were awful! They actually came apart and I was picking paper off my boobs

Re: nursing pads

Lansinoh makes 2 different kinds. The ones I like the best are the ones that are "extra soft". The regular ones are round and have 1 piece of adhesive. The "extra soft" ones are a little more squared off and they have 2 pieces of adhesive. They stay in place better and they really are much softer -- I definately notice the difference. Don't waste your money buying the ones by The First Years that are "lanolin treated". There isn't enough lanolin on them to do anything. Get the better pads and buy your own Lansinoh lanolin ointment. You probably won't have much leakage while in the hospital, but the pads will probably help you feel more comfortable, as your sore nipples won't be rubbing against the fabric of your bra.

Re: nursing pads

I've tried a bunch so far, and I like Johnson ones best. Avent are ok, too.
