Re: Nursing while pregnant
I may be wrong but I don't think you are suppose to nurse while pregant. Usually ob gives you a few weeks to ween once you find out your pregnant but that is it.

Unless you have a high risk PG, you can still BF through PG. There are many women who do it. (Although some women wean due to discomfort while nursing or because their PG causes their milk to dry up.)
Here's some more information on it:

To the OP, I don't have any experience with this, but you may want to check out the Kelly Mom website. The above link is from there.

Re: Nursing while pregnant
I'm not pregnant either, but I did ask my midwife that question. She said yes you can...but usually the baby will ween themselves off b/c your milk may start to taste different. Also you may want to ween yourself b/c of discomfort like the pp stated.

Re: Nursing while pregnant
# 1 is 2 1/2 and I will be ttc this summer! I have tried everything to wean her for months now except for taking prescribed medication to dry my mlik up or leaving my DD with my DH for a few days...neither which I can bring myself to do.
I know I am winging it and I am going to have an awful time when I do get pregnant so that is why I posted here to hear from any moms who did it.
I would be thrilled if my milk tasted diffrent and dd didnt want to nurse anymore OR if my milk dried up.
Thanks

Re: Nursing while pregnant
Emma was 2 1/2 when I stopped, of course the straw that broke the camel was being in the hospital with Jeremy a few hours old and having both on the boob at the same time I said forget that and just started taking it away. Distracting her with other things. Giving it to her and taking it away after a few seconds. Eventually she got tired of that and just wanted to snuggle and not nurse.

Re: Nursing while pregnant
I nursed dd#2 while pregnant with number 3, but she ended up weaning herself when I was about 4 months or so....my milk dried up. She was almost 2 by then and seemed ready to wean.

Re: Nursing while pregnant
See I was hoping to hear some hopeful stories on here - maybe there is light at the end of the tunnel that is not traumatic for either of us and it will work out alright.....My OB was very insistent that my milk would not dry up but I think he just wants me to take the meds and be done with it.
Thanks for the answers and the hope you have given me.
