Nutrition info on fast food
How do you feel about this?
Will it help people make healthier food choices or will it do nothing at all?
Do any of you feel that you just rather not know the caloric and fat content of your McNuggets because when you eat that stuff you know you are indulging and don't want to be made to feel guilty?
I don't see how putting a nutrition label on a Big Mac that you already purchased and can't return will help you except maybe for next time. But for that, you might as well check nutritional values online like I do now. They're out there for pretty much every fast food place.

Re: Nutrition info on fast food
I probably won't even notice it. If I wanted healthy, I surely would not be going to McDonalds. But like you said, once you have it, you can't give it back after seeing what the caloric intake is, so its kinda pointless.

I still think that anyone who doesn't know that a Big-Mac is bad for you - well, I guess I just can't imagine what rock they've been living under. It won't make me feel more guilty to see it on the paper, and sometimes I do like to know HOW bad I'm being.

Re: Nutrition info on fast food
I admit, if they put the WW point total on the box, I would probably only eat half, and throw the rest away.
With nutrition labels, it is so hard for me to read. I know a lot of fat, sodium, calories are bad. But I don't realize how bad. And I would probably justify it with me never really eating there anyway.
But WW point totals, I think they would see a decline in sales. That lays it all out, and lets you know this amount is all you should have for the next 2 days

Re: Nutrition info on fast food
I like knowing it and I am probably one of the few people who looks at it when I am in a fast food restaurant. I don't eat fast food very often and it helps me make better choices when I am there unexpectedly (travelling, etc.) Sometimes you think something is not that bad, and it turns out it was worse than what you thought was the unhealthy choice (check out any fish sandwich and the new chicken strips at McD's )

Re: Nutrition info on fast food
I think it's great. I think a lot of the time we don't realize just HOw bad these things are. For awhile I was pretty deluded. I thought the fish sandwich was somehwat healthy. I know at BK at least it's worse than the burgers. It's like 11 points just for the sandwich

Re: Nutrition info on fast food
I rarely eat fast food ever once in awhile I'll have a plain hamburger if I'm starving and thats what FH wants to eat but I can tell you from someone who is always watching what I eat...the guilt that comes over me from eating the burger is ridiculous...people who watch what they eat don't frequent fast food places - much less care what the nutrition contents are...I don't think slapping a nutrition label onto a Big Mac is going to make people think about eating them...Anyone eating a Big Mac is not worrying about their diet...jmo

Re: Nutrition info on fast food
I like knowing the nutritional info. I think it helps people who are trying to make healthier choices. A lot of the "healthy options" that these places offer are just as bad as a burger.

Re: Nutrition info on fast food
I actually pay attention to this. I try to aviod fast food, but when I eat it (its just so damn good), I have assessed WW points and figure out how much I want. I get the Happy Meal w/ 4 piece McNugget- the smaller portions.

I have been putting 1000 island dressing on turkey burgers and lite bread and calling them big macs it is the only taste in the world that I craze. But I never go in there. It is so bad...
