Did anyone vote and are you surprised that Hochul won? I really thought more people didn't like her.

She has raised a lot of money and had a lot of endorsements, so I’m not surprised.

I'm not surprised. NY never surprises me. She'll win i'm sure because NY could care less nowadays if she's ****** as long as its a democrat.

Of course she won. The democrats did not put up anyone that was worthwhile to run against her. Zeldin was not surprising either but what I did find surprising was the number of votes each got. The Republicans were outvoted almost by double which if an indicator for November, it will be a landslide.

It will be a landslide no matter what. People in NYC decide NY elections and they love how things are right now. Filthy streets, boarded up buildings, dangerous criminals running free, legal drug dens, sky high rents…..its their dream come true.

It was both the Democrat and Republican primary - you vote based on how you are registered.

And as for the women being pissed off...they should also be pissed off at their Democratic politicians who represent them considering they had 50 years to try to pass legislation that would have avoided the SCOTUS decision but they decided it was better to leave it out there so they can run on the issue in future elections....like the one this November.

Yes but my point was Hochul wasn't elected instead of the other 2 candidates running against her in the primary because of her stance on abortion. I believe all 3 candidates have the same beliefs that abortion should be legal. I don't know many democrats who are against choice on that issue

My point was that democrats outnumbered republicans by a LOT and I think it's because MORE came out because of the roe v wade decision. Hochul did get more votes than zeldin but all 3 dem candidates got more votes cumulatively than all 3 republicans.

To be honest, I think Republicans in NY know NY is a lost cause. It will never turn...even way before the Roe v. Wade decision

Re: NY Primary

Had the option to vote in the primary, but I didn’t send in my paperwork to register in time. I’ll just wait to vote in November. They really make it a pain to do absentee ballots; you have to register for everything.

Yup. Don't even know why I bother voting honestly.
