NYC - places to eat HELP
ok - so i am coordinating an event which includes us going to see a play.
i need to find a place to eat afterwards - i do not want super posh - but i also dont want a conry toursit spot either.
i need it to be in the theatre district or at least on the west side.
any great places you can suggest?

OMG - ruby foo's is the only place i know in the theatre district!!! very good there - but i think the set up of the restaurant may be a little small for the # of people i have in the group.
isnt there a palm steakhouse over there? carmines?
what are some other places?
i am also not really looking for very ethnic cuisine - want to stick to basics to make everyone happy.

Joe Allen is good..it's a good old Steakhouse.
I think there is an Angelo and Maxies in midtown as well.

The mid-town angelo maxies closed. there is one on 19th and park, but not so close.
Carmines is over there, as is Ollies. There is also Simply Pasta on 41st.
Ruby Foos has those big round tables and can prob fit as many people as you need if you make an early enough resi.
Let me keep thinking.....

One of my favorites in the theater district if 44th and X (tenth). Also, Blue Fin is great.

Oooh, Bond 45!
I can't believe I forgot that one... sooo yummy!!!
it's on 45th between 6th and 7th!
And the Palm West is on 50th between broad and 8th.. that's always a good choice....

Trattoria Dopo Teatro...good Italian food!
Although I just checked their reviews and they weren't too good...when we went we had a great time and the food was delicious!

Cascina is really good. They do pre-theatre, and it's not at all touristy. It's on 9th at 45th.

Re: NYC - places to eat HELP
I work in Times Square- so I know the area well. Ruby Foos is pretty big. It must be a big group you are looking to hold.
I would recommend Carmines or Tony Dinapoli. They are both big, family style Italian restuarants. I prefer Carmines, but Tony's is great too. I haven't been to the one down here, (I have been to the one on the UES), and it is also very good.
