NYC- adding baby to benefits
Just wondering if any NYC teachers have used the ESS/CAPS website to add baby to their benefits. I tried to do it using their help link but I'm so confused! Tried calling HR Connect and the wait time is over an hour! Not exactly doable with a newborn! Any help would be much appreciated!

I haven't but if you can just leave your phone on speaker and wait for HR connect. They were helpful for me. That's what I would do last year.

I'm in the process but doing it the old fashioned way. Had the paper application, over night it, called and they had me on hold for an hour. Did the whole speaker phone thing. Was told it's in system bit now I'm waiting on her birth certificate. Ess was not easy for me.

Thank you for your reply! Finally go through to HR Connect and now I'm also doing it the old way with pen and paper. ESS seems like it's worthless and maybe they should just go back to the old way!
