NYC DOE-Childcare leave or not returning after giving birth
Hello ladies, just wondering if anyone went to any of the UFT maternity workshops? I'm curious about childcare leave (I know you could take up to 4 years!) however, I am more concerned with not returning back to work after giving birth or taking leave...Do you need to pay back a percentage of the benefits for any maternity/medical expenses if you do not return to work?
There are no maternity workshops before I give birth, but I will call the UFT office in the meantime. TIA

I had DS last August and am currently on child are leave. I had 6 weeks paid (using my sick days), then had my health insurance until 12 weeks and after that took a childcare leave. You are entitled to all of that and if you decide not to return to work after the 4 years then you resign. FM me if you have any questions.
