NYC employee eventually fired for surfing web
I know this was discussed prior and people were praising the judges decision.
But I knew that regardless of what a judge said... if a company wants to fire you... they will and you really can't do anything about it.

True you can't do anything about it in terms of getting your job back. You can however get a nice settlement if it's warranted.
In this case, I'd say it's not warranted.

if this employee was warned to stay off the internet and kept doing it, he deserved to get fired.
you're there to work, not surf the web, read a newspaper, etc.
