NYC- Excessed but my status still says I am not!
Anyone else? My friend at the same school was excessed after me but her status was just changed to saying YES she is excessed. What's the deal?!

hmm- that's weird- mine just changed to saying i was excessed, last week... maybe they are in the midst of changing it? did you get an official letter from the DOE/ your principal?

Yes, I got the letter. I am just coming off of childcare leave of 7 yrs and I am worried that they may be messing it up because of that.
Will it prevent me from getting a job...that I am not listed as excessed?

call up the doe and talk to them. The open market closes on August 7th, I believe, and afterwards on excessed teachers can view the listings. Call them and see what's up! Regardless you still have a paycheck coming in

Of course...I found out my school principal did not put me on the official excess list....overlooked...HA! how does that happen?
