HMM I work right by Central Park, there is the Mandarin Oriental but that is very $$$$.

ehh, no more then $225 I was hoping for a night...( weekend though) but thats a ballpark.
ETA- based ont he hilton and Mandarin rates, I think I need to up our budget a LOT

try southgate towers - nice place it use to be an apartment building - it was purchased by affina recently and i have heard it is all spruced up.

sorry, I can't recommend any that far uptown.
The roosevelt was nice and not badly priced, but that was in the 40's.
The W Union Square is on 17th, it was really nice, but not to fluffy, so maybe more affordable. Personally, I loved the location, I always wind up in Union Sq when we go out to eat.

The closest I stayed to Central Park was the Sheraton which was so-so.
I've stayed in theHotel Elysee which was pretty nice.
I also loved the W in Times Square and on Lexington...and of course the Waldorf (still in your price range) was amazing. We were in the Chrysler suite - but that was for work.

I think our plan might be off. I have checked out all these hotels you all suggested. The cheapest room is $340 anight....Doesnt seem worthi it for one night
