I'd say less then $300 but I'm open for all recommendations and then I can always pick based on price after that. I'm looking at expedia but I don't know anything about the hotels so I figured if someone had a suggestion, I could look there first.

Re: Can you recommend....
My favorite moderately priced hotel is The Chandler hotel on 31st/5th & Madison. I stay there almost every month when I come to NYC for work.
On The Avenue....Upper West Side
The W Tuscany on 39th/Park & Lex...they run some great weekend specials...I just got an email for under $200 a night for Jan-Feb.

Re: Can you recommend....
Some of our employees stay at
Garden Inn Chelsea - 167.20 per night
I don't know how nice it is but since they complain about everything & I don't hear them complain about this one, it's probably pretty good.

Re: Can you recommend....
We've stayed at the Millenium Hotel in NYC - I don't remember prices but I'm damn sure we didn't spend more than $300/night.
They have two sides almost - a very modern side - which is BEAUTIFUL and a hotel-y side which is eh. We've stayed in both.....
Great service. Very nice front desk and whatnot.
eta: I just checked prices for VDay and it was $319/night.

Re: NYC hotel recommendation
I like the rooms at the Marriott Marquis but the place can be a madhouse. Not sure how much it is.

Re: NYC hotel recommendation
Family was in town for a wedding and they paid $159 for the Hampton Inn in Soho. Newly renovated - they really had nice things to say about it.
Not a fancy schmancy hotel but clean.

It was not too pricey, very nice...very modern.
