NYC Interview Tomorrow! (Update)
So I have an 1120 interview tomorrow in Brooklyn. I think we are leaving by 9 am since we have no idea how the traffic and parking is going to be.
My DH is taking me since we know NOTHING about the subway system.
Any last minute tips for city interviews or for the commute/parking/etc?
***
Update:
Well they offered me a letter to guarantee me a position in September. They don't have anything right now, they actually have 23 teachers they still need to place, which they said is odd.
I'm still going to look on the Island, but its nice to know I'm going to have a job.

Look on the NYC website about the curriculum. I am in NYC we use a few different programs...Also Lucy Calkens...Teachers College is HUGE! Tell them you like all of the professional development the city offers!
FM me if you need any other info

Re: NYC Interview Tomorrow! (Update)
Honestly, you may be better off in the fall. Mid year jobs can be sketchy- if it's a maternity leave, that's one thing, but sometimes these vacancies exist mid year because the school/administration is terrible and no one wants to stay. Now you have time to do a little research and have a little more control over where you end up.
Teaching jobs in the city have gotten surprisingly competitive- I think it's a factor of the Fellows/TFA programs, and the better salaries and the "supposed" improvement in city schools.

Re: NYC Interview Tomorrow! (Update)
no they said starting in march i will be attending job fairs and interview for different positions.
if i dont find anything by august they will place me somewhere.
i would still love something on long island though, which is great because it is giving me time.
