NYC restaurant recommendations for a group

A group of 6-8 friends will be going to the city on Saturday night - any suggestions for restaurants that are group friendly? No real restrictions on where to be, except not waaaay downtown. Not over the top expensive either.

Thanks!

I was there a few weeks ago! They have a really good brunch menu. They also serve HUGE mimosas. Chat Icon

ETA: Wanted to add some more group-friendly restaurants. I personally love Ruby Foos in Times Square even though it's really touristy.

There's also a place in the West 20s called Aspen that's fantastic. They have a tapas-style menu so you and your friends can order a bunch of different plates. There's a large table in the middle with a fire pit in the center that's a lot of fun.

And Dos Caminos is good too - there's one on 26th & Park Ave and a new, larger one on 50th & 3rd.

Churrascaria Plataforma - a super delicious Brazillian BBQ restaurant. You have to like meat though.

Tony DiNapoli's - family style Italian restaurant. They 2 locations: times square & the upper east side.

Dip - a fondue on 3rd & 29th.

There's a Ruby Foo's on the UWS too. Not quite as touristy.

Definitely not as touristy, but a lot more crying babies. Chat Icon At least the one time I went. It wasn't quite the Friday night dinner experience I was looking for Chat Icon I think the one on the UWS has two levels though, which is nice.

Re: NYC restaurant recommendations for a group

What type of food are you looking for? Here are a few of my favs:

My favorite restaurant to go with a group is Otto on 8th St and 5th Ave.. It is italian tapas - we share everything and it never turns out to be very expensive.

I also like Cafe Espanol on Bleeker between Thompson and Sullivan. Huge portions, great prices and the sangria is lethal Chat Icon

I just went to Jazz Standard the other night, if you are looking for dinner and a night out. You order off the Blue Smoke menu and watch the set. Alot of fun!

Tony's DiNapoli and Carmines are staples for family style menus.

Some of my favorite restaurants which can accommodate a group are Sushi Samba, Fig and Olive, Vento, Del Friscos and Giorgionne. Have fun!
