NYC teachers AIS jobs...I need help...please
I am considering applying for an AIS postion for a few reasons...but I was wondering...Is it still considered a teaching position because I am due for tenure next year and I don't want to mess that up. I think on LI an AIS position may be different from a regular classroom position regarding tenure track.
And is AIS the same teacher salary schedule???

ais is just out of the classroom. you are still considered a teacher... you do not have to change your license. i know at my school, we keep losing teaching positions because of student enrollment dropping. the ais positions were cut, but those two teachers just went back into the classroom. well, one applied for and got cluster position.

I was AIS and taught under special ed then switched licenses to teach 1st.
