NYC Teachers and professional development/per session
How much PD is available to you at your school? Do you get paid for training? How much per session is available?
We get next to nothing in PD or per session pay. Meanwhile, a school near mine is closing school to students on October 7th and providing the teachers with PD all day. My friend just transferred schools and last week alone she was given 5 hours of per session......I haven't had 5 hours of per session in years!
Just wondering about other city schools.

My school is very generous with per session. I'd say we easily have the opportunity to get a minimum of 10 hours a month. Any pd we have outside of normal school time we get paid for and we are always having someone come in for something. We also get per session for tutoring, clubs etc that we can do every week.

What do you mean per session for tutoring?
We hold regents prep extra help after school and get per session for it.
