NYC teachers doing 55/25 program
Did you get some kind of deficit letter? I got one today saying that I owe $500 because of some non payment from 3/08 to 8/08. I am presuming it's because I didn't register for the program until late july but 3 years later, they are catching this error? I can do a payment plan or a lump sum (yeah, with a baby coming, I want to fork out over $500!).
Just wondering if anyone else got this letter. I'm annoyed.

Yes- I think they want about $800 from me.  Meanwhile, I am pretty sure I'm not going to retire because I want to leave before then.

DH got the same letter with the same dates and about the same amount due. I'm not sure if they would talk to me if I called so if you find out any info, please, please, please FM.

I didn't- I see no point because in the end they'll just make me pay up anyway. But I do believe there is a way to make monthly payments instead of forking over the lump sum. DH and I just spent over $3k on our dog- I'd rather spread it out than fork over a big chunk.
