NYC teachers: voting on "comp. time" positions?
After 6 years in the DOE, I should probably know this.
Are positions like College Advisor and Program Coordinator voted on by UFT? The two women that are Program Coordinators want out. I'm the College Advisor in my school, and I'm going out on maternity leave after Thanksgiving. Since I'm taking at least a year off, admins are obviously going to have to replace me. Does my staff vote for who they want, or does my admin assign someone to the position?

Admin appoints. The position is posted and people apply. In our school they are interviewed by the principal.
The UFT votes on the existence of the position itself, not the person filling it.
