Museum of Natural History (hopefully).
I also like the circle line tours of the Hudson River.

Re: NYC Teachers...where are you going for trips?
The only one we have planned so far is for the Town Hall Theater to see A Christmas Carol, in December. Then we'll go to the tree and to lunch.
I haven't planned any others yet. Some of my faves have been the Bronx Zoo, Yankee Stadium (they give an awesome tour!), Ellis Island and the Metropolitan Museum.
I'd like to take my kids to the Cloisters this year too.

What are you doing at the Botanical Gardens? What tour or special program?
Someone called Green Meadows from my school and they say they are booked.....is Fresh Meadows the same thing?

I went to Green Meadows and hated it! It is not the same as Fresh Meadows. It is in Little Neck I think. They have different things for kids to do like a petting zoo and tractor rides. It was more for younger kids. It was way too open and I was too paranoid about losing a kid to ever go again.

Actually city schools can go to the zoo free everyday. Wednesday would probably be the worst day to go because it is free to the general public.

I do a self guided tour through the forest. The students observe and record autumn changes. The website nybg.org has lesson plans and handouts for teachers too.
