NYC with a 19 mo old-advice on transportation

I am going to the City this weekend with 3 friends from OOT. DD is coming with. We are staying near Times Sq and weather permitting will walk in the srtoller whenever possible. Any tips on travelling up or downtown though? I have a moby wrap I can still wear her in but still need the stroller. Luckily I will have other people with me but is a cab even possible? They don't have seatbelts let alone carseats so I am thinking not. Sorry for the long post. I really need some help on this.

Cab is possible. I never use a carseat with them. In NY any car for hire has a carset exemption rule. I just held him on my lap. But if you don't feel comfortable, maybe go the subway route instead.

Personally, I would rather do the stroller and subway, especially if you have people to help you carry the stroller. I think times square has an elevator also. Some of the cab drivers are crazy, and too few of them have working seat belts.

I would do the stroller and subway thing. You will have help bringing the stroller up and down so it sounds like you will be ok. I've taken DS into the city by myself and I was fine. Strangers helped me carry the stroller up the stairs. You'll be fine...Chat Icon

I live in the city. I would do the subway or bus. You will have plenty of hands to help you carry the stroller up while you carry DC.

I never take a cab when I have DS with me. I always take the train. It's safer, IMO.

We walk or take the subway when we have DS in the city. It's more of a personal thing...I won't even get in a cab so I'm not comfortable putting DS in one either. Chat Icon
