Nyquil

Has anybody purchased any since, say December 1??

Has anybody been asked for ID to buy it?

My DH bought me Nyquil when I was sick at the end of December. I just asked him and he said he wasn't ID'ed.

I lived on nyquil every night from Thanksgiving until January 4th. I had such a horrible cold that I couldn't shake. Not bad enough to go to the doctor. But to answer your question, I was not asked for ID.

Nope. I dont think it has the magical allergy/sinus ingredient in it that they use to make Meth. I think it really is only acetominophan, cough supressant and alcohol.

A few years ago at Costco I tried to buy 2 3-packs of Nyquil bottles and they wouldn't let me... but I am guessing that is probably a Costco limitation.

Haven't purchesed it but I did notice it isn't on the shelf. You have to bring up a card that has the info on it to get it.

If you buy the one with pseudoephidrine (SP?), you need to show ID.

we once bought nyquil at stop and shop and we had to show id

i just bought dayquil and was asked for id
they need to see it so it rings in cash register.

I've bought it twice in the past month at Target and was asked for ID.

They have to, you can make meth with some of the ingrediants.

I was at the end of December. I had some money left on my FSA card, so I wanted to use it up and stocked up on OTC meds. They carded me for the dayquil and nyquil.

they wrote down all my info/id when purchased mucinex yesterday (which I knew they were doing) I didn't know they were doing it for nyquil too

I have.. it's because kids use Nyquil and other cough medicine like Robitussin to get high. It's called robotripping.

Robotripping - To be in the dissociative state induced by ingesting excessive amounts of dextromethorphan (DXM). This chemical is most commonly abused though the consumption of cough syrup, which contain DXM for its antitussive (cough-suppresant) properties. The name is derived from the common cough syrup brand, Robotussin.

It's also used to make "sizzurp" when you mix it with soda.

It was a while ago, but I had to show ID. And of course it was that odd rare time when my license was missing. I was able to buy it but it was a PITA. I forget what I had to do instead- I don't think they just sold it to me. It was in Target.
