NYS infertility mandate?
i have to renew my insurance & i want to make sure i go with the right coverage option in case we have to try other routes for infertility. this is what it states under the coverage i have now:
Fertility services: Covered as per the New York State infertility mandate; applicable copays apply
i went on the NYS website & it looks like it basically covers the majority of treatments, does anyone have any further info. that would help me choose if this is the right coverage?

There are a LOT of loopholes. Both my insurance and my DH's insurance did not follow the mandate because they were exempt. My insurnace is a union and DH's company is self-insured. Also, it covers IUI, but not IVF. I would call the companies you are looking into before switching to see if they cover anything.

That coverage entitles you to IUI's and medication for IUI ( artificial insemination)...not IVF...ask about IVF coverage.
