O M G we just had a HUGE Earthquake!!!!Small Update in 1st post
iT SCARED THE CRAP OUT OF US!!!!!!!!!
Epicenter 3 miles from my house. 5.8
Shook hard and for what seemed like forever, then a very sharp, hard jolt at the end !
Some friends have broken glass.;fallen pics etc but no injures. My DD said our house fared pretty well as far a falling items etc.
I guess I've prepared as best I could for an earthquake at my house.
I'm so nervous still. Waiting for aftershocks. There have been at least 25 so far.
My poor DD, Jackie is at home alone and this is her first real earthquake.
I wish I was there to comfort her.
Best part is the 5% chance if this being a foreshock to a bigger quake within 24 h hours....sleep well....
UPDATE: I'm home and had some minor damage to part of my sidewalk, it is buckled(city's problem to repair) and the block wall in the back of my house is cracked and buckled all the way down on one side. One more shaker like this a.m. and it will probably fall.

It was centered about 3 miles from my house! Preliminary stats about 6.0
If we a long one and shook hard. Probably the worst one I have felt in many years!
My DD's called and everyone is ok. Nerves are jangled here!

Yes both Newport and Irvine are minutes from here.
