O Question
OK,let me start off by saying I have been lurking for sometime now & boy are you women an ocean of knowledge! I came off BCP in December & was told by my OBGYN to start TTC right away,no need to have a "waiting period"..well,nothing so far.
I am so over the "we'll concieve our wonderful love child while we make mad,passionate,love"..I am moody and quite frankly bitchyy & thats just not me definetly could be confused hormones that are still out of wack from coming off the pill. I know I need to start charting & temp'ing but just trying to make sence of your charts makes me feel like its calculus or something.
Here is my simpleton O question : according to the ovulation predictor,I should ovulate Feb.11th (Sat) when should we BD? Also, yesterday afternoon,I felt that familiar twitch in my right ovary (have not felt this in years) could I have ovulated(being that I could still be wacky due to the pill) & if so..are we too late for this month? If we'd do it as soon as we'd get home from work..would it already be too late for this month? (although I'm still holding out for Feb.11)
Thanks.

Re: O Question
You have only tried for 2 months then? 6 mos is the avg time I think. Here is an interesting plan for conception from twoweekwait.com. It's called Sperm meets Egg: FYI CD1 is the 1st day of your period. I've also read its best to take your OPK between 12-8 PM Fertility Methods: A Look at the ''Sperm Meets Egg Plan'' Sometimes getting pregnant naturally isn't as easy as you might have thought. If you've been trying to conceive for several months or more, it may be time to start analyzing your cycle closer and making sure you babydance (have intercourse) on the most fertile days of your month. There are many ways to do this, most of them involve purchasing an ovulation predictor kit (OPK), which works like a pregnancy test except it's checking for the luteinizing hormone (LH) which preceeds ovulation. You may be doing this already and still not having much luck getting pregnant. There are lots of possibilities for the inability to conceive quickly and most will take a doctor to rule out different issues, but if you are looking for something new to try out.... read on....
Perhaps you've seen other women online mention the "Sperm Meets Egg Plan" also nicknamed SMEP by those familiar with it. I know the first time I heard of the name, I thought it was a silly name - of course the sperm has to meet the egg in order for pregnancy to occur. But then I began to look at what the plan involved and realized that there is a lot of purpose to it.
The wonderful thing about this plan is that it will give you the best odds of ensuring that the sperm gets to your egg. Obviously if you have blocked tubes or other physical conditions barring conception, this plan will not help much, but if your body is primed and ready for pregnancy, this plan should give you an advantage that you may not have had in past months. But be forewarned... this plan requires some serious lovin'....
Here is the "Sperm Meets Egg Plan" crash course:
1. Buy 10 OPK tests PRIOR to cycle day 10 2. Starting on cycle day 10, do one OPK test EVERY DAY 3. Babydance (BD) EVERY OTHER DAY starting on cycle day 10 (hips elevated for 10-30 minutes after each BD session) 4. When you get a +OPK, babydance that day and the next 2 days in a row (so 3 days in a row total) 5. Skip one night and babydance once more the next day 6. Take a home pregnancy test (HPT) 15 days after the day you ovulated (or most of you will start taking your HPTs at 10-12dpo!)

Re: O Question
Also I've heard the twitch is not necessarily indicating O is happening it could be about to or alread has so thats not a real sign taken by itself. Ove time you can probably figure out what it does mean for you with a combination of OPK's and analyzing you cervical mucous for egg white stretchy type.

Re: O Question
Oh I know it has been only 2 months & I am no where near taking other routes..its just that, like all of you- baby bug. Of course,my heart goes out to all the girls having challenges after a considerable amount of time. I in no way meant anything bad in saying that I just want to be preggo now, minus the romance...I've had "romance" with my DH for years now,its time to be a bit more scientific and actually plan it out. Thank You for the info...according tp this,I am at day10- today. Thank You.

Re: O Question
When you are ready to get more scientific its amazing how you can really pin point your O day. I know the OPK's work for most but in my 2 months of trying they never worked for me. Im just going by temps and starting to become familiar with CM..
It is a science and so hard to enjoy BD when you have all these concerens and thoughs going through your head..
After BD'ing I used to like to snuggle with DH but now its all about " quick put the pillow under by butt" and raising my butt in the air.. LOL
Much Baby Dust to you!!

Re: O Question
Get a basal body temp one. You can just take your temp orally everyday with that.

Re: O Question
I bought mine at Eckerd, its called the BD basal. You need a Basal because it reads in tenths rather than a regular one.
