O sticks or Kit?

What do you use to determine when you ovulate, and why?

I'm thinking that I should have this as a backup/confirmation for when I O, because I don't think that I'm getting it correctly.

Re: O sticks or Kit?

IMO the fertility monitors are too much $$ for me to spend right now, but I am keeping the idea open as an option down the road.

Right now, I use OPK strips from www.fertilinet.com
They are really cheap.

I've also used Rite Aid brand which work great. They are more money but I like them better because you just POAS, you don't have to dip anything like the strips (which is a pain in the a$$ when you're at work) Chat Icon Bought these cheap too at www.drugstore.com

So, basically I used the OPKs, chart my BBT and watch for changes in my CM and also cramping.

Re: O sticks or Kit?

Once upon a time I used my bbt, my cf, my cp, opks and the clear blue fertility monitor.
They ALL always pointed to the same O day (I did them all for about a year) so now its just temp and opk

PS- Kathy...I use the dip stick as a mid stream when I am at work. I just do it very carefully.

Re: O sticks or Kit?

Is the O testing the same as with pg? where you just POAS when you think you're O (or pg)? Or do you have to POAS a couple of times to see it getting darker?

Re: O sticks or Kit?

I use a few kinds, and I like the answer and CVS ones the best.

I know I typically O around day 14 so I start at day 10 testing and continue till I get the surge line.

I have had the last few months a lot of ALMOST surges and was confused...I kept going this month beyond what I THOUGHT was the O surge and got a REAL positive a few days later. This month I tested 2 days past the surge positive to make sure, and they got lighter.

YOu need to have an idea of your O timing to help. A friend of mine never O's before CD19 so if she started at day 10 like me , shed go nuts...lol.

Read about it on www.poas.com

They have some FAQS and advice on tests.
