O without temp rise
Hi everyone- I just started the temping thing. Is it possible to O without temps rising that high right afterwards? Is this because I am not using a basal therm? I have always tracked my cycle and have been pretty good just counting days but this temp thing is throwing me off

Re: O without temp rise
Are you charting? It won't give you your O date until your temp remains high (at least .3 degrees higher I believe) for 3 days. What kind of thermometer are you using?

Re: O without temp rise
If you are ovulating, your temps would have to raise after O, indicating there is progesterone in your system (prog. is a "hot" hormone and causes your temp to rise).
If you are not experiencing any type of temp increase from pre-O temps, you are likely not Oing, or may need some help increasing progesterone production.
You should really get a basal thermometer- they are more accurate....

Re: O without temp rise
You HAVE to get a basal thermometer. they measure tenths of a degree which regular terms don't. I got mine for $10 at Eckerd

I went to Rite Aid to get one and they only had a RA brand one so I decided to wait and get a name brand one and in the meantime I have been using a reg one. Maybe that's my problem. I'll go get one soon and see if and when I get AF this month. Thanks girls...

Re: O without temp rise
I don't think a name brand matters, I have a CVS basal thermometer and it works fine, it actually tells the temp to the 100th degree.

Def grab a basal, brand doesn't matter. i used Rite aid brand and got pg twice charting.
You prob missed the o increase since the reg thermoters don't go to the tenth degree.
Good luck
