OB/GYN rec's in eastern suffolk...

I am so nervous to even be posting on this board yet, but this is something I need to think about very soon if all goes wellChat Icon

For those that don't know me, I am very newly pregnant after over a year of fertility treatments, including one failed IVF. I got pregnant on my first FET and have my first sonogram on Monday at just about 6 weeks.

While I was going through all the fertility issues, I recieved word from my former OBGYN (dr brenner and michelle mayer) that they no longer take my insurance.

If I am released from my RE, I will need to find a new OBGYN fairly quickly. I am looking for someone that delivers at either St. Charles or Stony Brook and that has sonogram equiptment right at the office.

Thanks in advance for helping...and I hope to be posting more on this board very soon!!!!! Chat Icon

Re: OB/GYN rec's in eastern suffolk...

Jen, I have had a wonderful experience with Suffolk OBGYN. They have a few offices and good doctors. My pregnancy was quite different with my complications and they handled everything well. The complications from my delivery are not due to them, but just due to the rare occurance that sometimes anesthesia has it's own complications. Feel free to ask me any questions. Chat Icon

Re: OB/GYN rec's in eastern suffolk...

Dr. Erhart in Pt Jeff Station...comes highly recommended from the nurses at St. Charles, small practice and personal.

I personally had an AWFUL experience with Suffolk OB....to the point where I had a seizure bc of undiagnosed pre-eclampsia and my son was born at 30 weeks. I feel like I fell through the cracks bc the practice is so big....

Hey buddy Chat Icon ....I will be going to Dr.Gustavo San Roman (my RE's brother)....He assisted in the birth of my DS and was a sweet-heart- My old OBGYN went to GYN only and Dr.San Roman took over his OB patients ...my best friend just used him and adores him..he's pretty well known...And the best part is that he is associated w/ St. Charles hospital and I loved the maternity dpt. there...they are in the Stony Brook Area if you're interested Chat Icon

I use University Associates OB/GYN It is in Setauket and I love them. They do all the sonos in their office. My doctor was Dr. Johnson and I can't recommend her enough. They are affiliated with Stony Brook University Hospital. 444-4686

I just got a call yesterday- the obs at Suffolk OBGYN are no longer accepting the govt empire- you can use them as out of network doctors though and i think insurance will cover 80% of it... its annoying... there are still some gyns & nurse practitioners that will accept it though...

I go to Stony Brook OBGYN. They have an office in Stony Brook (with a sono machine) and one in Rocky Point. I was very happy with them. They delivered my son one month ago today. Chat Icon They only deliver at Stony Brook.

Re: OB/GYN rec's in eastern suffolk...

I have no info on pregnancy stuff yet but my doctor has been great with my preparing to TTC. I go to Three Village Women's Health and I see Dr. Davenport. She is amazing. She happens to be a high risk doctor and only delivers at Stony Brook. There are many doctors in the practice. She takes Empire (I am a teacher too). HTH

I go to Suffolk OB/GYN and I have been a patient there for 7 years. I am very happy with the practice and they deliver at St. Charles and SBU Hospital. If you don't mind a male doctor then Dr. Petraco is great!! Chat Icon Good luck and congrats!!

Re: OB/GYN rec's in eastern suffolk...

I would recommend to avoid Suffolk OBgyn. I used to go there and switched to the Stony Brook midwives half way through my pregnancy. I am so much happier with them. They deliver at Stony Brook hospital. I don't know if you are wiling to consider midwives... their website is www.stonybrookmidwives.com.

I use the same practice...I see Dr. Todd Griffin. Both of my delivery experiences were great.
