Obsessing over my registry
Okay, I think my shower is coming up soon because I go back to work in September and I think they'll do it before I go back to work.
So the crunch is on, and yet I'm obsessing over my registry, about whether or not I put the right things on there.
My sister is telling me that her friend says the travel systems are useless, that I should just register for a Maclaren stroller instead. She also says my bedding is "too boy" and not gender neutral, and that my SIL said I have 13 pages of "useless stuff" on my registry.
It makes me all nervous. Maybe I registered for the wrong stuff!
I just spend a while taking off some items that I felt I could do without, like a toy that was showing up unavailable and little things like that.
Did anyone else question thier registry this close to having things bought from it, or once it was done, it was done? Grr, this is frustrating...

Re: Obsessing over my registry
Don't obsess!! Whatever you get that YOU feel isn't necessary, just return! I had almost $350.00 in returns after my shower...don't obsess now at all - you won't really know what you need or don't until it's all in front of you! (And what doesn't work for one person may work great for you!)

Re: Obsessing over my registry
In hind sight there were somethings I registered for that we didn't need (or my son didn't like) , for example wipe warmer, slumber bear, bouncy seat. We just took them back and got stuff we needed like formula, diapers, etc....
As for the travel system, I think it's a matter of preference. I got the Eddie Bauer one in black and white. Although it's somewhat lightweight, I wish it didn't take up so much trunk space (we have a Honda CRV). For the next baby, I think I'll get a separate carrier carseat to use with a universal carrier stroller and then get a lightweight stroller later.
Don't let anyone tell you what you registered for isn't necessary or appropriate for gender. Get what you want and through trial and error you figure out what works for you and baby.

Re: Obsessing over my registry
I too obsess over my registry all the time. I'm constantly taking things off and/or putting things on. My sister yells at me all the time to stop...but, not because I have too much stuff...she just wants me to stop looking at it and changing it all the time.
You'll get plenty of good stuff at your shower and things that you feel you won't need, you can always return. Regarding your bedding, if it's what you like, then that's all that matters.

Re: Obsessing over my registry
I just looked at my registry just now and something completely disappeared from it, as if someone deleted it. It's not in the purchased section but it's not in the section anymore at the top, and my total items went down by 1.
that's extremely fishy. i think my husband is doing trickery. hehee.
