Ocala, Florida
Anyone know of anything fun to do around there? We are probablly going to take a trip to Disney/Universal but other than that we have no idea what else there is to do!

Re: Ocala, Florida
Having been dragged there several times --I can tell you that you aren't going to be doing much in Ocala. My parents own horses and there are a bunch of horse farms there, but I almost want to say that's all there is. Many of the hotels are on some main hwy. I know people stay there and drive all the way to Orlando.
I would say could you try to get a hotel closer to disney?

Re: Ocala, Florida
A good friend of mine moved down there a few years ago. I'll send her an email to see if she has any suggestions.

Isn't OCala near Tampa? If it is there is Legends field, tropicana field, st pete beach, the tampa awuariaum somewhere on I-4 there is some dinosaur land and some fantasy of flight museum. That's all I can think of off the top of my head

Re: Ocala, Florida
We had talked about tubing.... and the last few days of the trip we are going to get a hotel in Orlando to hit the parks. Other than the springs and horseback riding my friend didn't think was much to do either. Luckily she has a beautiful house with a nice pool so we can just relax the first few days!

Re: Ocala, Florida
Just heard back form my friend. She mentioned silver springs and rainbow springs and said that there are some nice restaurants in the area.

My MIL lives in Ocala, there isn't really anything to do there. You are two hours or so from Tampa and two hours or so from Orlando. We never really do anything when we are down there, but when DS is older we will probably do Disney.
