Oceanside schools
We are toying around with the idea of moving back into my dad's house, the home I grew up in. I don't know how the schools are now, I also went to Catholic h.s. so I have no idea what the h.s. is like in Oceanside. Can anyone give me an idea how the schools are? Specifically #2 (Terrell Ave) and the MS and HS?
Is the MS still in Boardman?

Re: Oceanside schools
My sister student taught there and I think the HS specifically has a good academic reputation. I lived in nearby ER and went to Catholic schools too. There is a post on the HOme Board about Oceanside that if you do a search, you will see some positive feedback.

Re: Oceanside schools
Thanks. My dad lives very close to ER. Near the Pearl St. Bridge. I subbed at ERHS for 2 years. It was ok, you know how subs are treated sometimes so wasn't the best experience but the teachers were very nice. I remember the Vice Principal, Gerry something - he was very nice (I think he passed away? I could be wrong). My dad also went to ERHS in the late 40's! He and my mom lived in the apartments above the Bold O'Donohue's pub on Ocean Ave for a few years when they first got married.

Brings back memories. My parents still live in the same house I grew up in, right down that street from Bold O'Donohue's. I've taken the Pearl Street Bridge many times, to take Rockaway north to get to RVC. Small world.

Re: Oceanside schools
i grew up in o'side, dh in rvc but o'side SD too. we love the district and the area. DH went to school 5 I went to school 3, both to the MS and then the HS. it was really important for us to stay local and we were lucky enough to be able to. I am thrilled that Sydney will be going to the elementary school that I went to! If you have any specifics, feel free to FM me!
