October 31: Halloween Stars at Hofstra

Children who visit the Hofstra Observatory this evening for a special Halloween
stargazing program will be treated to the sights of Jupiter and other heavenly
bodies under the guidance of Hofstra astronomers. The autumn sky will also offer
the moon, Uranus, Neptune, star clusters and the blue-gold “Hofstra” double
blue-and-gold stars Albireo.

There will also be free candy (Milky Way bars, of course) and an award for best
children's costume.

The program takes place from 6-8 p.m. at the Hofstra Observatory atop the
Chemistry and Physics Building, California Avenue at Huntington Place, South
Campus. For more information: (516) 463-2231 or www.hofstra.edu/astronomy
