odd things your infant likes to play with - and buying new toys

Lately (8m) these are more fun than his toys

- plastic cups - I'm afraid of the disposable ones, but we have some colorful hard plastic ones that are dishwasher safe, he loves to hold them, bang on them, suck on them
- plastic water bottles (preference for Dasani I guess he's not into the new poland spring ones that have less plastic)
- Baby Bjorn plastic spoon, it has a rubber handle that squeaky like a squeegee when he chews on it.
- wooden cooking spoons
- empty wipe container, the ones that pop open when you press the button
- light switches, if I'm holding him and walking down a hallway, he's aiming for them, and has figured out how to flick them back and forth.

He has a million toys that mimic all of these, but the real stuff is more interesting, I don't get it...

oh and
- doors, he crawls up the door and just opens and closes it over and over for at least 10 minutes at a time. I got one of those hinge locks so that he doesn't pinch his fingers.

oy vey, what's next?


Now is it still worth while to get him a big toy, like Laugh and Learn House? I mean is he really going to be interested after he already discovered the real house?

DS crawled for the first time after a red solo cup rolled away from him.

His favorite toys are cups, my kitchen spoons (the big black oxo ones), all of my rubbermaid (we moved it to the one cabinet he can get into) the remote, the phone, doors, pulling tissues out of the tissue box, and pulling things off the refridgerator and throwing them on the floor!

he loves the swiffer

seriously! we took two polls out so it's his size and he goes around cleaning the house. Probably b/c his momy is a nut and always cleaning.
He also loves the swiffer duster. If he sees me using it or cleaning he cries that he wants it

In my house any new toy(big or smalll) gets played with for about 2 days then they return to light switches, ripping the gate off the bottom of the stairs and climbing up, hiding in my closet, you get the idea! Though I have to say two things my kids have kept interest in for a LONG time is

And the mickey Mouse ride on airplane

My son's favorite thing is hands down his baby brush (yup...his hair brush). Can keep him happy for such a long time while he chews away at it.

DS still plays with odd things...his new favorite is the rolling pin. He can roll it, talk into it like a microphone, put it in the kitchen drawer that he has taken over for himself, and he also holds it above his head and pretends to lift weights.

Boxes, spoons, bowls, cups, the vacuum and the broom are what I should wrap for x-mas.

Get the L&L house, he'll enjoy it!
