Officaly can't stand my complex
GRRR, ok last night on my way home, they were checking id's before entering my condo complex (I do not live in a gated community). I understand you don't want outside trick or treater, but I would have like to have known this in advance.

I'm not in a complex. I'm in the houses down the road. In past years I've seen them do this 4th of July too, this year they didn't. At any rate DH and I always think it is odd that they do it. I guess it's a good safety measure for them.

they didn't do it this past 4th of July. The security told me its only for Halloween to prevent bus loads of kids trick or treating in the complex (sadly I WOuLD LOVE THAT!!). I only got to see 3x Teen Girls, that it (oh and little Leah (babycote's gal) came to trick or treat.

There was a sign outside of our complex that said no trick or treating after 7 pm. What fun is that? I had 8 kids come to the door, so I had to give out a HUGE handfull of candy to each kid. Who's idea was it to end at 7?

My building did this when I lived in Hoboken. One year we didn't and I ran out of candy and then the following years - they had someone sitting in the lobby to turn away non resident trick or treaters.
I, like yourself, like seeing trick or treaters but, I'm sure people at one point in time complained about the amount of non-resident children entering the complex.

In the past, your complex has had it really really bad with kids from other neighborhoods coming into yours and causing issues. I grew up in New England Village across the street, and as a kid, I can remember plenty of Halloweens that the cops were picking up kids left and right because of all the horrible vandalisms in both neighborhoods.
